The Ice Storm Cometh

So yesterday was spent watching this ugly storm head across Michigan. Everyone at work was waiting to see if we'd get snow or ice or rain. Guess What? We got it all. A terrific thunderstorm last night, which is really odd in February, then the temp dropped and it turned to ice, then we got some snow on top of it. Kids around the area cheered as pretty much all the schools were closed today. We decided to skip the drive to the gym this morning and did come into work. The best part of an ice storm is the morning after. Everything looks so amazing with a layer of ice on it, the trees, the weeds, even the chain link fence in the parking lot at work looks nice.

I am lucky in that my drive to/from work is down River Road. It is called this because it follows the Saginaw River. Its not even close to being the worlds prettiest water but it is still relaxing to see all the wildlife and the water. So this morning I'm driving and the husband is looking out at the water and there are 2 swans out there just a swimming. Beautiful. Put all this together with it being a Friday and I am in a terrific mood today.

So weekend preview time. This afternoon I have a hair appointment in Midland at an Aveda salon. I have high hopes. I just love Aveda products. After that the husband and I are planning on dinner at Olive Garden in Saginaw( I know, I know, straight outta Old School) but living in this area we don't have tons of choices. When we do want real Italian we got to Neno's in Bay City, that place is terrific. The family closes the restaurant every summer to go back to Italy.
Anyway, after dinner i'm dropping the husband off to play poker and right now I'm just planning on heading home. Though, that could change. I mean if I end up with terrific hair tonight I'm not staying home. Tomorrow, I'll hit the gym and get a an oil change in the car and then the rest of the weekend is wide open. Things that need to be done: laundry, taxes and work on the kithcen. Hmm, I'll hope for 1 outta 3.
