Irish Eyes Are Smilin'

Happy St. Patricks Day! As far as my heritage, I'm sure there is a little Irish in my somewhere, so today I'm sporting my green and I will be all weekend. St. Patricks day is a big holiday up in the BC. With it falling on a Friday this year just adds to the celebration, cuz the big day will be on Sunday for the annual St. Patricks Day parade. Its such a big day, that I'm taking Monday as a vacation day to recover if need be. It also just happens to be a friends birthday too. A few of us girl got matching T-shirts to help celebrate. Its gonna be a good one.

The husband has been preparing this week by drinking at least a Killians a night. Last night, I joined in by sharing a pichter at Hooters where we had dinner then we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch some basketball. A nice little prep session for the upcoming weekend.

Oh yeah, no progress has occured on the kitchen... But I'm not even surprised by that.

Wow, its a good thing no one is reading this...

Since I'm posting a lot less then I thought I would be. I'll give a quick recap of last weekend before I preview this weekend.

Last weekend we went to Detroit for the weekend. Left on Friday and stayed at the Marriott at the Ren Cen. When we got into town we checked into the hotel and then grabbed a cab over to Hockeytown Cafe. It was our first time there, food was good but not neccsarily terrific. Definitely going for the tourist type thing in there. After dinner we headed over to Comerica Parks 5th Avenue. Nice little bar, had a couple drinks then called a cab since cabs are not all over Detroit, then headed to Greektown where we made a nice contribution to the casino at the Pai Gow table before heading back to the hotel.

We actually woke kinda early for a weekend and then decided to order room service for breakfast. After a nice post-breakfast nap we got ready to head to the boat show at COBO where we met up with a fellow Sunsation owner from Chi-Town and hung out by the Sunsation booth for quite some time. We did wander around to see some other boats but it was mainly a by product of wandering around to find the bars. A good find was Ultra-leather inside a 35 foot Formula, that stuff was awesome, but other then that I was overly impressed by anything there. After the show, went back to the hotel for a sec then grabbed a cab over to Fishbone's. Our party had already left so we made another reservation, got seated and then a bunch more people showed up so we ended up moving tables. It was a lot of fun and the food was terrific as usual. We met some cool people who then invited us back to their hotel to drink. I'm sure we had a great time, I may not remember all of it. Something to do with champagne I believe.

So Sunday we slept in and then headed home. Made a stop in Troy to go to National Coney Island. It was terrific.

The week was relatively good other then the fact we got about a foot of snow yesterday. While it is pretty, I'm ready for spring.

So this weekend, not much planned. Probably meeting up with some friends at OCH tonight but other then that I'm not sure. Oh yeah, and we still haven't really started the kitchen. Maybe I'll get inspired to start taking down some wallpaper.
