Keeping Promises... then ranting
So we finally watch 'Departed'. My favorite part was Leo with his shirt off. I did like the movie though even if I had to hide my eyes a few times. I just don't like watching people get hurt of any sort so I look away but still listen which sometimes is almost as bad. We still have 'Lady In The Water' to watch and I have no idea when that will happen as this has become Birthday season which officially kicked off last Friday and I believe doesn't end until Labor Day weekend. So the first birthday we celebrated was Parker's where we ended at Madame Shelley's with some singing and dancing. I got some terrific pictures (currently in a slide show on myspace). This weekend the celebration continues as it is Ron and Ben's birthdays. Plus another super cool event that I have to wait to talk about another time. It should be fun.
Switching topics entirely... So after this whole Imus thing I have to say our society really needs to look at how people talk about one another and what is acceptable. I support the freedom of speech but when I have a hard time picking out 4 'clean' hip hop songs a year to use for my dance show something is wrong. Shoot, Fergie talks about 'dancing like a ho', even if it is edited, we all know what she's saying. Gwen says 'The Shit is bananas' last year my entire 5-7 year old class knew all the words to that song. This is only our pop music. Now, I love to shake my thing to Pussy Cat Dolls but I don't think there is a single song on PCD I can use it class. All these are on the radio all the time. Fine, record your music with whatever topics and words you want to use but please try to come up with stuff you wouldn't mind listening to with your 5 year old once in awhile. Oh, and drop me a note when you do, cuz I'm waiting.
